ADDING INQUIRY TO PHYSICS FIRST  WORKSHOP

On Saturday June 3rd the AAPT national and local NJAAPT hosted a workshop on "Adding Inquiry to Physics First" at Randolph High School.  Keri Parry,  PTRA (Physics Teaching Resource Agent), hosted and facilitated the workshop.

There were 12 attendees including many first-time NJAAPT members and workshop goers.

Teachers explored labs or demos in mechanics, waves, and optics while having discussions and prompts about implementing them in the classroom. Towards the end of the workshop, teachers exchanged formative assessment materials.

The group decided to create a "Google Group" which is called Physics First NJ. It's open to all and the focus would be on teaching physics first.
