For the zero impact vehicle event - would using an incline constitute as self propulsion?

For the egg drop event - I would like some clarification on exactly how the egg is intended to be added into the contraption that is created. Would we be able to hot glue the contraption shut and then rip it open in order to show the state of the egg after being thrown, or would we have to rely on an easier form of removing the egg? Also, is it allowed to dip the provided egg in some sort of liquid to harden it before throwing, or is the egg to remain unchanged?

Questions about the laser target shoot:  Will the team be given an angle to aim for, or will the team have to make a measurement to determine the angle?  If a measurement is required, will teams be allowed to be custome designed large protractors to be able to accurately determine the angle?  If a measurement is required, will there be some reference line on the table so that the team will be able determine the incident beam orientation?

We are still discussing the ZERO IMPACT VEHICLE question and will respond shortly!

EGG THROW: The eggs themselves can not be modified in any way.  You will be given an egg and a ziplock baggie to put the egg in and you will have 5 minutes to prepare before your egg is thrown. If that is enough time to use hot glue to close your container, that is fine!   (note -- nothing else can be placed in the bag with the egg!  /nm)

LASER TARGET SHOOT: Students will be given a clear indication on their paper of where the incident beam is in the form of a line and the target location will look like a small dot. (Refer to rule 7 of set up.) Students are allowed to bring and use standard rulers and standard protractors.

    Hello

The Zero Impact Vehicle must be self-propelled.  No ramps. We revised the rules to reflect this more clearly!

The vehicle must be self-propelled. The motion of the vehicle must be supplied by mechanical means such as rubber bands, springs, weights, pulleys. No ramps may be used. No electrical components of any kind may be used, no remote controlled devices of any kind, and no chemical or nuclear reactions.

     Sorry for the delay!

A toy basketball is fine, just keep in mind that no dimension must exceed 20 cm or it will be disqualified!

For the Bernoulli Ball competition- are students allowed to use the different airflow settings (high/low/cool) on a standard hairdryer? or do they have to keep it at the same level the whole time?

Could we please get a description of the size of the plastic bag that will be provided for the egg bounce event?
