Hi All, I am eagerly waiting for the start of the 2018 Olympics this Saturday, January 19th.  Below, find some guidelines.

Plan on arriving between 8 am  & 8:45.  We will start the Fermi Event at 9.  If you arrive after 9 but before 9:30 your team(s) may still participate in this event.  If you arrive after 9:30 you would forfeit this event.

When you arrive please see me to register.  Have your team(s) find a table in the commons area to use as a set up location during the day.  There will be coffee, juice doughnuts and bagels for your kids.  Please remind them to take one doughnut and one bagel until all team members have had a chance to eat.  Once all have arrived, they are most welcomed to have more.

After the Fermi event, around 9:40, all teams will will participate in the Grab Bag event.  If you arrive during this event your team(s) may still participate but if you arrive after, you would forfeit this event.

After the Grab Bag event, the teams will  move to the remaining events at their  own pace.  Instruct your team(s) that if an event is backed up, to move to another event.  We are planning to end the competition around noon.  It is the team's responsibility to complete all events by that time so, instructor your team(s) to plan accordingly.  I you leave to have lunch, the award ceremony will start around 1:00 so plan accordingly.  My goal is that you are on your way home between 1:30 & 2:00.

Please keep your area clean during the day and leave clean at the conclusion of the Olympics.  Please take back to your school large amounts of refuse for disposable.  We are guest of Monmouth Regional HS.  They offer their school to us free of charge so we do not want to burden their custodial staff.

There are no places close by to purchase food.  Doughnuts and bagels will be available until supplies last.  You may want your students to bring lunch.

Judges may adapt the rules in case of multiple ties for an event.  Judges decisions are final.  They are doing the best they can to be fair and keep within the spirit of the rules.  Please refer to the procedure for challenging a judge's decision outline in the general rules of your event/rules package.

Please do not ask logistic questions to the Judges.  Please refer them to Jess or me.

We will call the event (email) by Friday midday in case of inclement weather.  My cell is 908 433-8096.  Jessie's cell: 732 915-4875.

    Good luck.
