Debbie Andres, Paramus HS physics and engineering teacher, named AAPT president

At the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) 2026 national conference, Paramus High School Teacher of Physics and Engineering Dr. Debbie Andres was named president, making history as the youngest person to have this role at AAPT.

Proud colleagues at Paramus HS noted Dr. Andres said she looks forward to working alongside the AAPT membership to "enhance the understanding and appreciation of physics through teaching" while addressing the vital challenges facing educators today.
